It is hard to believe that 2012 is coming to an end, as it seems like just yesterday Easter Seals Crossroads launched our new website (August 2011) which included a blog platform. With help from staff, consumers and their families, our community partners and experts in disability services, we've successfully posted over 120 blogs this year - this one being #121!

The Autism Family Resource Center at Easter Seals Crossroads needs toys and activities for boys and girls ages 6 months through 18 years to interact with in our waiting area and during therapy sessions.

If you've ever opened the Apple iTunes or the Android App Store, you may have found yourself staring at the search screen, trying to figure out how you'll find the app you want if you don't know if by name. Wouldn't it be nice if you could type in a functionality or keyword and find exactly what you're looking for?

When you're planning a weeklong vacation, a day trip to a new city or just want to explore some place new, how do you get started? You may use review websites like Yelp, TripAdvisor or your local AAA office to pick up maps and suggestions for restaurants and lodging (eat this, not that!), but if you're a person with a disability you may have more questions about the accessibility of the place you're visiting.

More than 20,000 Americans die every year after accidents in their homes. And, each year, 3 million more children and adults become disabled because of accidents at home. These are alarming numbers, but what’s more alarming is that thousands of these deaths and injuries may be prevented. Easter Seals and the CENTURY 21® System are working together to make everyone aware of some easy and important home safety tips. Take a few moments to checkout your own home.
