Lady Antebellum is touring the nation offering private concerts for veterans and military families to share their new song and honor men and women who have served for our country. Yesterday they performed in the lobby of the Emmis building for 97.1 Hank-FM. During the event, board member Bob Shelton and his family were honored for their many years of service and ABC interviewed us to learn more about services we offer that assist veterans and their families.

Easter Seals Crossroads has recently set up a nonprofit page on FirstGiving, an online fundraising platform that gives individuals an easy way to fundraise for their causes. Your page is customizable - you can write a description of why you set up your page, add photos and videos, and share the page to your friends and family via email or social media.

Our Adult Day Services has partnered with the Herron School of Art and Design to provide art therapy to our consumers. Since the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990, there have been great improvements for people with disabilities regarding physical access to buildings, transportation, voting, web accessibility and more. However, there is room for improvement as not everyone is aware of why accessibility is so important.

In partnership with Easter Seals, the Staff Sergeant Donnie D. Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Community Services provides leadership to communities and acts as a clearinghouse for more efficient and effective delivery of services or to services. In honor of Veteran's Day, there are several ways in which Dixon Center and Easter Seals are recognizing veterans and their service in the media.

Last Saturday, nearly 14,000 people laced up their shoes and put on their bibs to run the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon (the 5K, half marathon or full marathon). Seven of our staff members and a member of our Crossroads Guild participated in this event in support of Easter Seals Crossroads and their own personal aspirations. The Crossroads Guild will be participating at the Christmas Gift and Hobby Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds from November 6 - 10 this year at booth #158-159. Since 1959, the Guild has volunteered and raised money to support children with special needs at Easter Seals Crossroads.
